Robert Half Human Resources (HR) Manager in Alexandria, Virginia

Description

We are in the process of recruiting a Human Resources (HR) Manager to join our team in Alexandria, Virginia. This role falls under the non-profit industry and involves key HR functions such as employee relations, compliance, benefits, recruiting, and onboarding new hires. The HR Manager will oversee daily HR operations and serve as the main point of contact for employees regarding HR matters.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all HR functions, including managing HR Generalists and Recruiters.

• Conduct new hire employee orientations and prepare benefits packets.

• Handle employee relations matters across all staff levels.

• Administer the annual performance management program, ensuring timely distribution and receipt of evaluation forms.

• Ensure compliance with State and Federal Laws.

• Prepare new hire offer letters and other employment documents.

• Manage the process of all employee disciplinary actions and provide necessary coaching and counsel.

• Maintain accurate and comprehensive employee files.

• Conduct exit interviews and ensure proper documentation is placed in employee files.

• Maintain and update the employee policies and procedures manual.

• Utilize skills such as ADP Workforce Now, Benefit Functions, Compensation Administration, Compliance, Employee Relations, Labor Employee Relations, Recruiting, and Onboarding.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in a Human Resources role, preferably within the non-profit sector

• Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now

• Demonstrated knowledge of benefit functions and compensation administration

• Strong understanding of compliance requirements in HR practices

• Proven experience in managing employee relations and labor employee relations

• Experience in recruiting, onboarding, and talent management

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred

• Ability to interpret HR policies, procedures, and principles

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

• Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking abilities

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
