Job Capsule

Lifting Equipment Inspector/Surveyor and Trainer shall be responsible for providing relevant inspection and/or training services to the assigned clients.

Job Duties/Roles

  1. Inspection and certification of Lifting equipment such as Cranes, Forklift, Telehandler, Side Boom, Boom

trucks, Winches etc. and accessories such as Wire Rope Slings, Webbing Slings, Chain Slings, Shackles, Eye Bolts, Chain Hoists etc. on which they are Authorized to perform and review of materials and certificates to verify compliance with applicable specifications, standards and regulations.

  1. Witness FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests), Destruction tests and issuance of Report of Activity.

  2. Review Non-destructive tests procedures and qualification records of technicians.

  3. Verify calibration records of inspection instruments.

  4. Review manuals and technical specifications of lifting equipment; drawings and sketches of lifting arrangement.

  5. Prepare and issue visit activity, defect and inspection reports, certificates and inspection release notes.

  6. Training and Certification of Lifting Equipment and Machine Operators, Riggers and Scaffolding Personnel.

  7. Perform JSA, risk assessment as and when required.

  8. Prepare and submit daily/weekly time sheets and invoice request forms to line manager for his approval.

  9. Reporting to line manager.

  10. Maintain the job files.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required (KSAR)

  1. Technically sound in the relevant area and independent judgment in carrying out responsibilities.

  2. Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, specifications, rules and regulations and the impact of rule applications and interpretations.

  3. Knowledge of company business policies and procedures

  4. Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.

  5. Good interpersonal skills.

  6. Good practical and commonsense approach.

  7. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing

  8. Ability to identify, analyze, and propose creative, unique solutions to problems

  9. Self-motivated and Genuine team player.

Minimum years of Experience

Previous experience as a Third party inspector/Surveyor/Engineer in the relevant field with minimum 3 year experience for Graduate Engineer or 5 year experience for Diploma holders.

Qualifications

Required/Preferred Education Requirements

  1. Degree/ Diploma in relevant Engineering discipline.

  2. Welding certification with CWI / CSWIP 3.1/ API 510/API 570 are preferable.

  3. In-service experience in offshore platform/FPSO on mechanical equipment, piping, structure is an added advantage

  4. Additional qualifications such as LEEA Diplomas, ASNT NDT Level-2 certifications, CIA Certifications, Train the trainer (TTT) qualifications and CITB Certifications are preferred.
