POSITION OVERVIEW:

Startec Compression and Process is currently recruiting a Senior Expeditor to work at our Shepard Office location (9423 Shepard Rd SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 4R6) . In this role, the chosen candidate will play a crucial role in fostering strong relationships with suppliers and facilitating the procurement process. With a focus on Integrated Projects & Fabrication, we will require the Senior Expeditor to ensure deliverables are met for all required engineering documentation, onsite and offsite deliveries, as well as meeting progress milestones. The primary responsibility of the Senior Expeditor will be to coordinate project materials, expedite deliveries, and track all relevant aspects and deliverables. By ensuring the efficient flow of materials, accurate documentation, and timely communication with various stakeholders, the Senior Expeditor contributes significantly to Startec’s operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and the successful execution of projects. This role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI):

PROCUREMENT & SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT (Weighting 40%) Vendor Engagement Top of Form

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.

  • Monitor vendor engineering and manufacturing schedules to ensure the schedule is maintained and proactively manage any possible delays.

  • Handover to logistics to facilitate delivery as per the purchase order pending on Incoterms conditions specified in the purchase order.

  • Diligently track and follow up on all outstanding purchase orders in strict adherence to company policies and established procedures.

    Risk Management

  • Identify potential risks and bottlenecks in the procurement process and propose solutions to mitigate them.

    Deliverable Management

  • Expedites all project equipment/materials in accordance with the expediting plan.

  • Ensure the deliverables are met for all required engineering documentation, onsite and offsite deliveries, as well as meeting progress milestones.

    DOCUMENTATION (Weighting 30%) Data Management

  • Ensure that the data for reporting is complete and accurate.

  • Coordination of information relating to packing lists and delivery documentation including any documentation required for export purposes.

  • Coordination with Procurement and Warehouse staff on purchase orders and receiving.

  • Ensure all relevant release documentation is issued.

  • Interface with client and project members regarding expediting issues.

    Communication and Reporting

  • Communicate with end users via Telephone, email, Microsoft Teams, and face-to-face interaction.

  • Provide frequent detailed reports and status updates to project managers.

    PROJECT COORDINATION (Weighting 30%) Oversight

  • Coordinates with QC to ensure the scheduled inspections are performed timely and NCR’s when produced are handled efficiently to avoid any delays to the schedule.

  • Ensure the deliverables are met for all required engineering documentation, onsite and offsite deliveries, as well as meeting progress milestones.

    Logistic Management

  • Interface with client and project members regarding expediting issues.

  • Handover to logistics to facilitate delivery as per the purchase order pending on Incoterms conditions specified in the purchase order.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education in Operations, Inventory or Purchasing Management or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of purchasing experience.

  • Lean Supply Chain experience would be beneficial.

  • Strong Written and Communication Skills.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems (NAV & Dynamics), Excel, SharePoint, Wrench and any various other tools.

  • High degree of technical aptitude and familiarity with various materials, fabrication processes and supply items.

  • Multi-discipline knowledge/awareness

  • Excellent understanding of project execution, especially materials management and scheduling.

  • Proficient in Excel.

  • Project-based experience and an understanding of a fabrication environment.
