The WWTP Senior Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing all activities in the Waste-water treatment plant (WWTP) on site. The role will involve working closely with Facility engineers, maintenance engineers, team leads, EHS, other site functions and eternals partners to ensure the WWTP is working safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will be overall responsible for Monitoring and Optimising the daily operation of the waste water treatment plant (WWTP) and support the WWTP team to ensure compliance with Industrial Emission License.

The key responsibilities of the role are as follow:

  • Overall responsible for monitoring and optimizing the daily operation of the WWTP and support the WWTP team to ensure compliance with the site Industrial Emissions License (EPA License)

  • Assist EHS Environmental lead to ensure operational KPI’s are monitored and communicated. Ensure timely communication to site operations if there are production impacts due to WWTP conditions.

  • Manage the daily operation of the WWTP laboratory and ensure all testing is completed to schedule. Review all daily/weekly/monthly results and report any issues to the EHS Environmental lead. Ensure all testing meets requirements laid out in site EPA license.

  • Manage in conjunction with external partners, all WWTP purchasing & stock requirements for the WWTP and laboratory. Ensure all files are kept up to date for financial reporting. Stock requirements include but are not limited to: spare parts, plant chemicals, testing solutions, calibration buffers, disposables etc.

  • Manage/coordinate all deliveries to/from the WWTP (i.e. waste/chemical deliveries etc.). Ensure all deliveries ingoing or outgoing, comply with the relevant environmental and legal requirements.

  • Oversee all WWTP maintenance requirements and ensure they are completed as per SAP schedule and documented in the site CMMS system. Identify areas for improvement in the maintenance programme and action accordingly. Ensure all calibration and maintenance plans are executed and ensure all works are completed in compliance with the site Health & Safety parameters.

  • Manage the sites WWTP operations contract.

  • Conduct daily and weekly Safety walks of the WWTP and document results.

  • Facilitate the daily WWTP operations meeting.

  • Ensure housekeeping in the WWTP is kept to a very high standard.

  • Liaise with site project teams as required to support any projects taking place in the WWTP or that have an impact on the WWTP. Ensure safe and compliant operation of the WWTP is always kept as number one priority.

  • Ensure all WWTP operations are compliant with site training requirements and metrics.

Qualifications

Key skills and competencies required:

  • Experience in Wastewater Treatment Plant operation.

  • Experience in Environmental Laboratory testing.

  • Experience operating Environmental Standards and Systems.

  • Proficient in data management systems, trend analysis and reporting.

  • Written and spoken English fluency.

  • High PC literacy is essential.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in environmental science, Engineering or related discipline.

  • 7 years of related engineering experience.

  • Work experience in the wastewater treatment plant environment desirable.
