Job Description: Accounting Supervisor

Job Summary: Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, the Accounting Manager assumes direct oversight of the financial and accounting operations within the Timekeeping and Billing departments. This pivotal role involves collaborating closely with the Corporate Controller to facilitate month-end closing procedures and other critical accounting tasks. The Accounting Manager also serves as a key liaison with operational teams, ensuring seamless coordination and adherence to financial policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Order to Cash Management: Spearhead comprehensive job setup procedures across various regions, including Houston, South Texas, and the East Region. Gain expertise in tax implications across different jurisdictions and job types. Oversee billing processes for complex client accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client requirements. Facilitate timely posting of daily cash receipts to maintain current collections/receivables status.

  • Regional Billing Oversight: Assume responsibility for the regional billing team, overseeing a spectrum of billing types including fixed price, Schedule of Value billings, time and material, and unit rate billing. Foster strong collaboration with Field Project Managers to streamline billing processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Timekeeping Management: Provide leadership to regional timekeeping teams, offering support to the South Texas area Timekeeping department as needed. Forge productive relationships with Field Project Managers to enhance data collection and management processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

  • Credit Card & Fleet Program Management: Manage the Company's credit card and Fleet program, ensuring adherence to financial policies and best practices.

  • Cross-Functional Support: Offer leadership and support to other departments including Accounts Payable, payroll, and purchasing as needed.

  • Month-End Closing Support: Collaborate with the Controller to facilitate month-end closing activities, including balance sheet account reconciliations and monthly variance analysis.

  • Process Improvement: Actively participate in the Company's process and policy improvement initiatives, contributing innovative ideas to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Additional Duties: Perform any additional duties as required to support the financial and operational needs of the organization.

    Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Relevant experience with demonstrated career progression may be considered in lieu of formal education.

  • 5+ years of related experience desired, preferably within industrial services or construction services.

  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative mindset. Strong presentation skills and comfortable interfacing with executive leaders/PE firm and working in the trenches.

  • Proven ability to lead process improvement initiatives in a team-oriented environment.

  • Highly analytical with the capacity to understand business needs and respond effectively.

  • M-F (ideally) 730am-430pm, HYBRID schedule once up and running (3 onsite/2 remote). Some overtime required.

  • Offering $95k-115k depending on experience + bonus
