About the Role:

This position sits within the EMEA tax team (3 individuals) which is part of the overall global tax group and includes teams in the US, India and South America. The EMEA team provides tax support to the International UnitedHealth Group business.

As a Senior Tax Consultant, you will be involved in all aspects of international tax, including tax accounting, tax compliance and tax planning. The role requires an individual who can manage a variety of tasks and deadlines and who continually seeks to identify and implement process improvements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Managing direct and indirect tax compliance

  • Assisting on the various strategic and structuring projects

  • Preparation of the annual corporation tax returns and workings

  • Assist with the corporate tax accounting for statutory and quarterly group reporting

  • Manage UnitedHealth Group’s response to direct and indirect tax queries from tax authorities

  • Provide direct and indirect tax guidance and support to finance and business teams enquiries

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance or comparable education

  • Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA)/Chartered Tax Consultant Qualification

  • Significant relevant experience, preferably with an International CPA and/or Fortune 500 corporate tax team.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with shifting priorities and deadlines

  • Strong computer literacy

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative and cross-functional environment

  • Attention to detail with strong organisational skills

  • Strong writing and quantitative skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA or equivalent qualification

  • Prior experience with international direct or indirect tax responsibilities
