The Role: SQA Engineer(Engineer II), Quality Engineering.

The Team: The S&P WSO (Wall Street Office) is the industry leader in leveraged loan and high-yield solutions providing comprehensive products and services for portfolio management, servicing, reporting, and analysis. Our portfolio management solution gives immediate access to real-time reference and transactional data on various asset classes. Its functionality is tailored to handle the unique behavior of bank loans and compliance reporting required for complex structures.

The Quality Engineering team works in partnership with other Technology Functions and the Business to ensure quality delivery of our products. The team is independent in driving all decisions and is responsible for continuously improving customer experience, revenue growth, and operations enablement through quick turn-around of development of our products with the highest quality.

This is a greenfield initiative where we are developing a new standalone Compliance (Compliance for CLO Managers) product covering multi-asset classes in both a pre/post-trade capacity with real-time reporting functionality.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop functional and non-functional automated test solutions/ frameworks (for Web, Services/APIs, and Database testing requirements) that meet organization standards and build reliable, reusable, and maintainable automated regression suites & test harnesses.

  • Build automation test strategies/test cases based on acceptance & design specifications, execute test cases, analyze and communicate test results to the team/manager.

  • Work closely with the Business/ Product Owners, Developers, and Test Architects to make sure that all features and bug fixes come with automated test coverage.

  • Perform in-sprint automated & performance/load testing activities to fulfill the Definition of Done

  • Promptly analyze, troubleshoot & fix automation framework issues and breaks; exhibits excellent technical troubleshooting ability; continuous improvement of test pipelines/suits.

  • Provides transparency through well-defined metrics, automation testing coverage/ results, and reporting.

  • Displays ownership with source control, sprint task management, and deployment tools (CI/CD)

  • Gather quality assurance data and metrics to provide insights and conclusions for continuous improvement.

  • Support deployment of completed work to our higher environments (UAT & Prod) following our release standards/ definition of done.

  • Review production incidents and bugs/ defect data to identify areas of quality improvement.

  • Proactively remove roadblocks, support in resolving critical issues, escalate risks, and work in a fast-paced and highly interactive environment.

  • Shows passion for Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, and testing technologies (new and old) and investigates new testing methodologies, keeping abreast of the latest advances/ techniques.

What We are Looking For:

  • 4 to 7 years of QA Automation experience in implementing object-oriented systems.

  • Self-managed individual with a proven record of building and scaling automation functional and non-functional frameworks.

  • Excellent hands-on experience with at least 2 or more leading automation testing tools/ frameworks like Selenium, Protractor, WebdriverIO, Cucumber /BDD, Cypress, SpecFlow, or Test NG

  • Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Google Lighthouse, LoadRunner) to assess the scalability and responsiveness of software applications.

  • Proficient with JavaScript frameworks such as NodeJS, Angular JS and Java/TypeScript

  • Strong understanding of the HTML DOM, CSS selectors, and data manipulation techniques in JavaScript

  • API testing - must understand RESTful design / best practices. In-depth experience in testing APIs and test tools like Postman or Newman

  • Well-versed with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools (ADO/ Jenkins) and techniques

  • Tools: Postman, Visual Studio, VSCode, Node & npm, SourceTree/ Git, Git Bash, PowerBI, Microsoft SQL Server

  • Well-versed with AWS Cloud technology

  • Rich experience working in an Agile software development organization.

  • Excellent understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, Agile/Scrum, TDD/ BDD, and object-oriented programming/ design principles.

  • Advanced programming/ scripting skills

  • Experience of testing container-based systems will be a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a globally distributed software development team.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science/ Information Technology
