Mobility Management Coordinator

POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:     

The role of the Mobility Management Coordinator will be to primarily assist the Mobility Manager in meeting the transportation needs of the general public with a focus on the elderly, disabled, and disadvantaged populations.  Duties shall include extended out-reach efforts to improve business and community support, assist with development and distribution of information that explains how to utilize available resources, assist with travel training the elderly and individuals with disabilities so that they may travel safely and independently within the community, and to build partnerships with key stakeholders to advance the mission of the Mobility Management Program.

Essential Job Functions: 

  • To assist with building supportive transportation networks within elderly, disabled, and disadvantaged communities.

  • Make public presentations on the benefits of Mobility Management in the community.

  • Attend support coordinated meetings within the county and outreach events as needed.

  • Collaborate effectively with other managers and departments.

  • Maintain a commitment to a professional code of ethics.

  • Advocate to constituents to demonstrate how public transportation supports communities and enhances economic development. 

  • Write and maintain reports as needed.

  • Obtain and maintain a professional Travel Training Certification.

  • Seek networking and outreach opportunities to collaborate with community stakeholders to provide a full range of travel options that meet the needs of the community.

  • Assist with creating educational materials to incorporate into classrooms.

  • Have a customer-first attitude.

  • Must enjoy working with people.

  • Must be detail-oriented.

  • Acts as an ambassador of BCRTA by always promoting a positive image .

    Job Qualification Requirements:

    Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents and instructions.

  • Proficient in word and excel.

  • Ability to work comfortably with the elderly and individuals with disabilities.

  • Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects with frequent interruptions.

  • Demonstrates good command of the English language.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality.

  • Ability to perform simple math calculations.

  • Ability to work under frequent periods of stress.

  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Work with, memorize and retain detail.

  • Enjoy working with and helping others.

    Education    

    High School diploma/GED required.  BA or BS in Social Work preferred.                                                                                                                                               

    Experience

  • Experience working/volunteering with the public in a community setting.

  • Experience speaking in public.

  • Customer service experience is a must.

  • Experience with the elderly or individuals with disabilities is preferred.

    Licenses/Certifications:

    Easter Seals Certified Travel Training Instructor (CTTI), or ability to obtain.

    Willing to become Safety Sensitive verified through BCRTA preferred.

BCRTA acts as the designated recipient for Federal Transit Funds and provides public transportation services within and around Butler County, Ohio including Hamilton, Middletown, Fairfield, West Chester, Oxford, and Miami University.
