Job sites are located throughout the US – Candidates can be remotely based, but must be able to travel up to 100% depending on project location.
Contract Lead Auditor - SA 8000:2014
Principle Duties and Responsibilities (PDR)
Audits and reviews management system information and associated documentation for compliance with SA 8000 requirements and applicable codes and/or standards.
Work directly with Client Service Specialists to schedule and confirm availability for audits.
Plans and conducts initial, surveillance and re-certification audits in accordance with ABS QE procedures and guidelines.
Present audit team conclusions to the customer and review customer resolutions of any nonconformities.
Prepares and issues reports and recommendations for certification.
Evaluate Corrective Actions, containment and root causes with clear communications with customers.
Lead team auditors in accordance with ABS QE procedures and guidelines.
Participate actively in witness audits by ABS QE or accreditation bodies.
Maintain auditor credentials and competencies annually
Participate in Internal Training and Calibration Meetings
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required (KSAR)
Must have 3rd party SA 8000 auditing experience.
Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent from an accredited university.
Minimum five (5) years previous work experience with two (2) years in social accountability auditing preferred.
Strong familiarity with appropriate system standards. Competent in industry areas to be assessed.
Successful completion of IRCA, Exemplar Global or similarly certified 5-Day ISO 9001/ISO 14001/OHSAS 18001 Lead Auditor Course.
Have passed the SAI approved 3 Day Basic Course and 2 Day SA8000 Course AND have passed the SAI approved 3-day (24-hour) SA8000 Advanced Course.
Work independently and project a professional image appropriate to the work environment.
Excellent decision making and organization skills.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Attention to detail and concern for accuracy of work performed.
Flexible in achieving duties.
Ability to travel, including a valid driver’s license, and credit card.
Computer literacy for MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
