Emerson Mechanical Engineer II in Houston, Texas

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Lead design innovation: Independently develop and complete complex mechanical design projects, producing detailed CAD models, assembly layouts, component drawings, and comprehensive design calculations.

  • Analyze and optimize performance: Conduct in-depth simulations, stress analyses, and tolerance stack-ups to pinpoint potential limitations and drive design improvements.

  • Champion quality and collaboration: Work closely with multi-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Service) to ensure product quality, manufacturability, and timely resolution of issues.

  • Drive process and system improvements: Proactively identify and implement enhancements to engineering processes, PLM/ERP utilization, and overall design methodology.

  • Expand technical expertise: Contribute to the development of our electric actuator portfolio, delving into multidisciplinary aspects across mechanical, electrical, and control systems

  • Own technical problem-solving: Independently solve, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues within our products, enhancing performance and reliability.

  • Provide mentorship: Support and guide less experienced engineers, sharing knowledge and standard methodologies.

  • Lead technical documentation: Develop and maintain detailed engineering specifications, test plans, and work instructions to ensure knowledge transfer and process clarity.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Two years of experience in mechanical engineering

  • Knowledge with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, preferably Team Center

  • Experience with 3D CAD systems, preferably Solid Edge

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Experience in electric actuation or related

  • User level knowledge of Oracle system for item and Bill of Material (BOM) creation

  • Knowledge of global standards:Engineering (EN), American Standard of Testing & Materials (ASTM)
