Sr. Director, Corporate Affairs
The Senior Director, Corporate Affairs is responsible for developing and executing the ABS external communications strategy in a manner that supports consistent business growth and enhances brand equity and awareness. This position is responsible for planning and managing external-facing marketing communications functions to achieve the Company objectives of business growth and visibility in the marine and oil and gas industries while ensuring a consistent marketing message and position consistent with the corporate direction. This person will also play a major part in the development of the overall marketing strategy along with the Sr. VP of Marketing and Communications. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, resourceful, and have strong executive presence and exceptional leadership skills.
1.Manage, coordinate and execute all corporate and external communications strategies targeting external audiences, and implement tactical plans that meet company expectations.
2.Develop, lead, execute and measure a comprehensive and aligned corporate and external communications strategy.
3.Work closely with Sales and Senior Executives across the business to create demand and recognition for ABS and its products and services.
4.Manage and enhance company brand and reputation.
5.Drive development of positioning, messaging and branding of company to cultivate a strong brand awareness and position in the marketplace.
6.Work closely with the Director of Internal Communications to drive internal messaging consistent with the external messaging to support employee engagement.
7.Work closely with the Director of Strategic Marketing to lead execution for strategic marketing plans through established metrics and goals, and leverage internal messaging to drive employee engagement.
8.Develop unique value propositions as well as call to action oriented marketing communications programs targeted toward key customer segments that increase brand and product/service awareness.
9.Lead and manage integrated online/offline, search engine (SEO) marketing, advertising, public relations, tradeshows and other campaigns leveraging new media/digital tools to generate demand & sales leads.
10.Manage the development and execution of all marketing collateral and sales support tools.
11.Be accountable for developing, measuring and reporting on integrated marketing campaign results.
12.Drive consistent customer experience through all channels.
13.Analyze, evaluate, plan and execute on both existing and potential marketing activities and strategies. Develop benchmark criteria to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of communications programs, and make adjustments as needed.
14.Manage budget for all integrated marketing campaigns and capital purchases.
15.Manage extended team of third-party partners and vendors to develop and execute all key corporate communications and external marketing initiatives; opportunity for development of communications resources in-house as company grows.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required (KSAR)
1.Global experience executing marketing communications strategies.
2.Experience leading teams in the Marine, Oil and Gas industries with significant B2B experience.
3.Creative self-starter with exceptional knowledge of marketing/communications strategies, concepts and practices.
4.A track record of performance excellence meeting targets and objectives.
5.Excellent communication, negotiation and project management skills.
6.The ability to articulate a vision and strategy in a way that inspires and motivates a team and focuses their energy on achieving business goals.
7.Excellent relationship management experience within the team, peers, management and key stakeholders.
8.Proven experience growing and maintaining relationships with industry vendors and customers.
9.The ability to manage multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes.
10.Able to compile and analyze performance data to develop metrics that support decision-making for resource allocation and subsequent campaigns.
time management, organization, and leadership skills with proven ability to effectively multi-task and juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines with ease.
12.Strong creative background.
Minimumyears of Experience
Minimum of 15 years experience in a marketing or communications senior leadership or management position.
University degree or college diploma in marketing, communication, public affairs or related field required; MBA strongly preferred.
Reports to an Executive level position.
May have Director-level, Managing and/or Individual Contributor direct reports.
