Insight Global Cloud Security Engineer in Irvine, California

Job Description

A large dental organization is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to join their team in Irvine, CA. This individual will be responsible for:

Duties:

* Develop and maintain secure, resilient enterprise-grade cloud processes in alignment with developers, architects, and frameworks like SOC2, ISO, and CSA.

* Secure business applications and computing environments across public, private or hybrid cloud infrastructures.

* Protect cloud based business applications in compliance with privacy, security, business resiliency, and regulatory (HIPAA, PCI) requirements.

* Maintain a consistent, secure environment using configuration management solutions.

* Conduct rigorous oversight of security systems and security configuration administration to reduce risk to enterprise systems and accounts.

* Manage Cloud based vulnerabilities across PDS teams using commercial and open source toolsets.

* Work with internal teams to maintain strong identity and access management (IAM) controls across applications and computing environments.

* Assist with development, maintenance, and utilization of scripts (e.g., Python) to automate required processes.

* Attend regular technical project and implementation meetings and serve as the security consultant to help guide secure application and infrastructure configurations.

* Actively monitor, assess, and recommend tactical and strategic initiatives based on new and emerging threats posing risk to cloud computing environments.

* Manage remediation efforts after security assessment and CSPM findings are documented.

* Manage continuing administration of CSPM, CNAPP, CWPP, WAAP, and CASB toolsets.

* Align with SIEM engineers to ensure proper log ingestion and detection use case development.

* Develop and test new playbooks with automations for cloud based resources.

* Document, formulate and enforce areas of security improvement that balance risk with business operations and do not diminish efficiencies or innovation.

* Assist in maintaining strong oversight with cloud computing vendors and solution providers to safeguard against undue risk presented by external entities. Escalate to security management and business unit leads when points of weakness are discovered.

* Stay apprised of current and proposed security changes impacting regulatory, privacy and security industry best practice guidance. Apply learned knowledge across key lines of business, including products, practices, and procedures.

* Act as a key figure in incident response to track occurrence and resolution, with strict documentation and reporting as well as engagement with security operations and incident response teams.

* Attend and fully engage in change and project management meetings as needed.

This position will be a 3 month contract to hire working 5 days a week onsite in Irvine, CA.

Skills and Requirements

3-5+ years' experience in cybersecurity

Bachelor's degree or 3 additional years of experience

3+ years exposure to Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform

Vulnerability Management skills using tools like Qualys, Tenable, Wiz, or similar

Strong Linux and Windows support skills

Familiarity with tools such as Git, Jenkins, Terraform, Cloudflare, and Salt

Experience with scripting languages Python and PowerShell and/or JavaScript, specifically understanding how to write using AI, modify, and find bugs

Network and encryption experience, including virtual private networks (VPNs), IPsec, SSL/TLS, LDAP and public key infrastructure (PKI)

Familiarity with cloud security solutions such as Prisma Cloud, Orca, Wiz, and Laceworks

Self motivated, organized, and able to communicate with both technical and non technical individuals Cloud access security broker (CASB) experience

IAM experience, specifically using Okta

Experienced in the use of threat intelligence services in a production environment

Experience and understanding of various regulatory requirements and laws, including but not limited to: Payment Card Industry (PCI), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), CCPA. Additionally, experience with ISO 27001/2 and ITIL

Up-to-date understanding of a wide range of incident response, system configuration, vulnerability management, and hardening guidelines.
