The Northrop Grumman Accounting Services team is looking to hire Accountant 2 (level 02). The position reports directly to the Manager of General Accounting. This position is a hybrid role and can be supported from El Segundo, CA, Irving, TX or Bloomington, MN.

Teleworking arrangements are subject to change based on the needs of the business. We will be selecting candidates who are local to either the El Segundom, Irving or Bloomington offices.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Support month end close activities including reviewing trial balances, preparing journal entries, loading SAP general ledger data to FDMEE/Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), reviewing FDMEE files to identify SAP table or other loading errors, ensuring errors are corrected and data are reconciled between SAP and HFM, preparing HFM journal entries as needed and clearing HFM check errors.

  • Assist General Accounting and International Accounting team members as needed with a variety of accounting tasks (including intercompany processing and billings)

  • Prepare account reconciliations as assigned in Blackline and resolve reconciling issues.

  • Support quarterly and annual supplemental reporting activities including preparing QES and YES schedules as assigned, collecting schedules and supporting backups prepared by others, loading data from QES/YES schedules to HFM, and validating data loaded and ensuring no variances.

  • Provide audit support to sector business partners.

  • Respond to sector business partner ad hoc data requests, inquiries, and problem resolution,

  • Act as the primary point of contact for the companies as assigned, ensuring positive customer interfaces and good written and verbal communications.

  • Participate in special projects as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline with a minimum 3 years of accounting or finance work experience.

  • Understanding of accounting principles, practices and standards.

  • Strong MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word) skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of SAP.

  • Experience with Blackline.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines.

Salary Range: $62,600 - $93,800

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
