Job Description

Position Summary:

The Accounting Analyst I play an important role for the Record to Report department, since the main

objective is to process general accounting activities, such as end month closing and quarter closing,

Intercompany processes, fix assets and account balance reconciliations, these should be completed within

the established time and quality to accomplish Thermo Fisher Scientific goals.

This position is also responsible to identify discrepancies and propose solutions, through detailed analysis

for each situation and promote continuous improvement of processes.

Main Responsibilities

• Perform accounting activities such as general ledger, intercompany and fixed assets for the month

end close process.

• Process intercompany invoices and manual journal entries.

• Perform mid complex balance sheet accounts monthly reconciliations.

• Ensure that all reconciliation information is entered into the system, with its proper support to give

visibility to the movements that were made during the month.

• Request the necessary approvals from supervisors to make the correct entry of manual entries into

the system

• Analyze accounting information in order to resolve discrepancies that may arise and identify the

root cause to avoid similar situations.

• Ensure that all accounting entries registered in the system are approved by the supervisor and have

proper supporting documentation.

• Respond to inquiries from internal or external clients related to accounting information.

• Support audit process (Internal and External), keep all the necessary controls for the operative

procedures and comply with the necessary information.

• Maintain involvement and communication by telephone, email, chat or any other means with

internal and external clients involved in the processes.

• Identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement of processes related to the

department, through communication with other departments to establish new strategies and apply

best PPI practices.

• Support supervisors and management in the implementation of established strategies and

guidelines.

• Provide support and any other request that is required by the company's needs.
