Job Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Selection, Qualification, and Sourcing Strategies - Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers. Ensure selected suppliers are qualified to support product development at full rate production and/or retail needs. Supplier qualification includes supplier facilities, sub tier suppliers, materials, special processes, individual components, and assemblies utilizing the Supplier Quality Manual, Part Qualification Process, International Organization for Standards (ISO) procedures and the Supplier Quality System Survey guidelines. Lead cross functional supplier visits. Develop comprehensive sourcing strategies. Collaborate with Supply Management, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing and Services to ensure participation in the global source selection process. Ensure adequate communication between Sales, Quality, Service, Tactical, and Strategic personnel is maintained during the source selection, remediation, development, qualification, or elimination processes.

  • Program Development – Develop and implement sourcing programs designed to sustain the supply chain for Crown’s One Source and aftermarket service parts business. Participate in product costing and setting of cost targets. Lead setting cost standards and the overall cost/price management of purchased items. Manage qualification of supplier’s and products for One Source and aftermarket sales. Keep management apprised of market, technical, geopolitical, and commodity pricing risks.

  • Supplier Development, Performance, and Risk Mitigation - Build and maintain supplier development. Monitor supplier performance from initial source selections through transition into full production and product life cycle support. Monitor and ensure overall project and production schedules are in sync with supplier lead time requirements and sourcing plans. Identify and report, any risks to schedules, to management. Ensure risk analyses are completed by the Sourcing Specialists. Act to mitigate and/or eradicate risk to quality or supply interruptions. Identify components or supplier’s whose qualification or performance does not meet requirements or support production schedules. Issue written deviations and or corrective action requests for any such noncompliance. Reduce or eliminate sole source situations. Review annual spend and risk analyses. Provide updates to management on activity, risks, and cost savings projects.

  • Employee Development - Perform duties such as creating/revising job descriptions, conducting Talent Development discussion sessions, rating performance, establishing/tracking goals and completing annual wage reviews. Responsible for coaching, motivating, mentoring, and developing direct reports to successfully take on additional responsibilities.

  • Miscellaneous - Attend product team, project, and management meetings. Initiate and facilitate meetings with senior management to keep them informed on sourcing activities. Participate as an advisory member regarding sourcing and supply availability on operational functional needs requested from other departments such as Engineering, Service, Production Control, Manufacturing, and Quality. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 8-15 years related experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain, Business, Engineering)

  • Travel (5%) or less overnight stays (5%) or less

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Good computer skills.

  • This is a leadership role which requires a seasoned professional with a high degree of responsibility, creativity, integrity, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
