Job Description
Insight Global is looking to hire a Senior Bilingual Group Underwriter for our client, a Canadian insurance firm. You will be joining the Group Operations team and will be working under the direct supervision of the Manager, Group Underwriting (Complex). This is an opportunity to serve as a leader to other underwriters within the team in terms of product expertise, knowledge sharing, and confidence to advise. You can expect the day-to-day to consist of activities relating to quotes/amendments/renewals (70%), consultation/advisory to internal and external stakeholders (20%), and potential escalations (10%). In this role, you will be reviewing and assessing complex requests to quote (Fully insured, ASO, Modular Flex, and Association Plans), ASO surplus requests, Amendments, and Renewals while providing technical expertise, and consultative services to both the underwriting teams and external stakeholders.

Skills and Requirements
Fully bilingual in both English and French
Minimum 6+ years of experience in Group Insurance or Financial Services, and Underwriting
Experience leading large, complex requests (i.e. 250+ lives and above)
Experience in Life and LTD coverage
Hands-on experience with group benefits products, contractual provisions, risk assessment, and pricing methodologies
Demonstrated experience in a group sales and service environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to navigate a CRM platform
Completion of a university degree or college diploma in a relevant field
GBA or CEBS Designation
Good working experience in financial analysis and trend analysis
Ability to think logically, analyze, and solve problems - Previously worked in sales with advisory experience.
Experience with other insurance firms or financial services companies.
Consultation/Advisory - significant experience working with internal and external stakeholders. null
