Farmer Brothers IT Systems Administrator in Northlake, Texas

The IT Systems Administrator (SysAdmin) is responsible for administering all aspects of Microsoft O365, Active Directory and Exchange, as well as helping to move the company towards the Microsoft Azure cloud computing environment and a cloud-first strategy. Leads projects, works with the business to understand requirements and develops solutions, and with vendors to assess and deploy technology.

Responsibilities

  • Daily management of Microsoft Office 365. This includes Exchange, One Drive, SharePoint, O365 Security and Compliance as well as InTune.

  • Manage O365 retention policies, maintaining them in-line with corporate guidelines.

  • Daily management of Active Directory as well as Azure Active Directory to include AD security groups, user access and security.

  • Manage Group Policy and scope to computer and user accounts as needed.

  • Plan and migrate on premise servers to MS Azure as needed and manage resources appropriately to maintain cost, performance and cloud efficiencies.

  • Utilize MS PowerShell to automate workflows as well as administer Azure and O365.

  • Troubleshoot O365, Active Directory and Windows 2008, 2012, 2016 environments to include DHCP, DNS as well as file and prints services.

  • Serve as an escalation point for the service desk on items in realm of responsibility

  • Administer Okta Single Sign-On solution as needed.

  • Assist in administering Proof Point mail security platform.

  • Manage on-premise VMWare environment, monitor resource and report resources utilization as well as provision virtual servers as needed for company related projects.

  • Assist in managing company backups and participate in company DR planning.

  • Deploy software to company systems using Microsoft SCCM.

  • Help plan, deploy and manage IT related projects based on best practices.

  • Mentor peers.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or in a related field. In lieu of a degree, 5 or more years of relevant experience may suffice.

  • At least 3 years relevant work experience required.

  • Advanced Systems Engineering and Administration functions for a complex technological ecosystem comprised of Windows Server 2003-2022 and Active Directory (AD/DS, AD/CS, and AD/FS).

  • Proficient in deploying standard services within the Nutanix environment, including SQL Clusters, File Services, and Web Services.

  • Very Strong Microsoft Administration skills to include:

  • Active Directory

  • PowerShell

  • Group Policy

  • Knowledge of security best practices concerning O365, email, and Microsoft server operating systems.

  • Knowledge of DNS and mail routing.
