Job Description

Capital One’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Team has responsibility for helping the overall organization identify, manage, and mitigate key risks that may keep the company from achieving its strategic objectives. ERM is currently seeking a Senior Associate who will have the opportunity to apply their project management, organization, and process management skills to support, as a part of our ERM project management team, a diverse set of initiatives, with a broad range of complexity and scale.

This Senior Associate role is focused on the development and management of project plans, tracking progress to milestones, managing dependencies across efforts, leveraging problem solving skills to support timely delivery to intent, maintaining supporting documentation, and providing status reporting. This role will effectively apply their teamwork, organization, and results oriented skills to support driving efforts to closure. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of project or process management, along with good communication and partnership skills for engaging with project teams and stakeholders. This Senior Associate will have the opportunity to engage and partner with risk program and practice owners, stakeholders and the risk community across the enterprise.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Support both internal projects within ERM, as well as enterprise-wide risk management methodology and process integrations and enhancements that can vary in scope and impact

  • Develop and manage project plans, including dependencies and resolution of issues

  • Track progress of tasks and milestones, and report on status; ensure supporting artifacts are well documented and of high quality

  • Build relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments

  • Engage in peer-peer community and support

  • Be intellectually curious to question the obvious, explore options, and seek efficiencies and improvements

  • Engage with and support audits and regulatory exams, addressing requests in a timely manner

  • Help support, where needed, special projects and engagements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

  • At least 1 year of Project Management experience

  • At least 1 year of process, risk management, or audit experience

  • At least 1 year of experience with project management tools and techniques (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies (RAID), Waterfall, Agile)

Preferred Qualifications :

  • 1+ years of experience in the financial industry

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
