SUMMARY

Responsible for providing leadership, and oversight of Quality Control to the organization. Is ultimately responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance and ensuring all maintenance is conducted in accordance with regulations and approved standards. In coordination with the Maintenance Manager ensures that all aircraft are maintained in accordance with approved technical data, and all aircraft are in an airworthy condition prior to release for flight. Administers the Quality Program and keeps the Quality Control manager informed of all matters pertaining to the Quality Control function.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides daily supervision the Quality Control employees in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.

  • Develops and approves the department work schedule.

  • Plans and coordinates mission essential activities.

  • Ensures all policies and procedures are maintained throughout the Maintenance Organization.

  • Reviews and submits locally developed procedures affecting the Quality control department to the Program Quality Control Manager.

  • Reviews and interprets local quality escape data in order to provide creative solutions for process improvement.

  • Ensures all aircraft paperwork is maintained correctly.

  • Monitors training and certification requirements.

  • Monitors tool control program.

  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization policies and applicable laws.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Ability to deploy as needed.

EDUCATION

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant License.

Preferred:

  • A.A./A.S or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.

  • FAA Inspection Authorization a plus.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience, with at least 6 years in a supervisory role, specifically supporting aviation/aerospace programs.

  • Prior Quality Control experience.

  • Leadership experience

Preferred:

  • Previous Quality Control experience on rotary and or fixed wing specific assigned aircraft HH-60, UH-1 and or DHC-8.

  • Experience in customer support.

  • Technical writing and or editing experience.

  • Ability to maintain strong customer relationships.

  • Knowledge of Army Regulations 95-1, DA PAM 738-750 751, FM 3-04-500 CH.8 QC or Air Force Technical Orders System.

  • Familiar with CFR Part 43, 91, 121, 135, 145 Quality or Inspection experience previous RII Required Inspection Items authorization.
