The Azure Fiber team in Romsey is seeking a methodical and dependable Cloud Network Engineer to join our team. You will be part of our software team, supporting the development of software application or features that are internally deployed in our manufacturing and test lines. You will be responsible for our cloud services up-time, manage data pipelines and cloud applications, managing tasks and delivering solutions related to bug-fixes and implementation of new features for released applications. You will also support the management of our product backlog items, leveraging on-premises resources and external suppliers. As such, this is a hands-on role based in Romsey, UK.

Responsibilities

• You will be working on automation of network equipment and interface them with cloud.

• You develop network components (e.g., device, software, tools) based on customer, business, and technical requirements that have been defined in partnership with engineering and Program Management teams; ensures that designs meet all functional, performance, scale, and compliance requirements with minimal guidance.

• You perform testing and validation of network devices, firmware, and configurations; and you define and implement test cases with existing automation tools.

• You contribute to the design and implementation of automated tools and services to increase engineering efficiency, reduce operational burden, and reduce human errors in production; use existing automation and make suggestions for improvements to existing automation to increase efficiency and reduce errors based on learnings and experience.

• You support the management of incidents by applying technical knowledge to diagnose and triage issues with a commitment to maintaining the quality of products and services.

• You support innovation and cost management by developing new ideas for systems and tools that meet customer and/or business needs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Mid-level to senior experience in working on automation of network equipment and interface them with cloud.

• Several years of technical experience in network design, development, and automation

• OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field AND some years of technical experience in network design, development, and automation

• OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND a few year(s) technical experience in network design, development, and automation

Other Requirements:

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
