Salary Grade: 13\ \ Pay Range\ Hiring Range: \$57,607 - \$69,128 Annually\ Full Range: \$57,607 - \$80,649 Annually\ \ Salary offers are based on the candidate\'s equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification.\ \ The Epidemiologist within the Informatics and Data Services Team will support the Pima County Health Department by offering informatics and data services, including data collection, management, and analysis, for public health reporting. They will work closely with all departmental programs to enhance data collection, storage, and analysis systems throughout the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in biology, microbiology, public health, biostatistics, biochemistry, medical anthropology, nursing or a related scientific or social science field identified by the appointing authority at the time of recruitmentandtwo years of experience in epidemiological investigative activities.

  1. Degree in epidemiology, public health, or closely related field.
  2. Experience working with social, environmental, behavioral, and/or economic determinants of health.
  3. Experience using business intelligence tools, including data mapping products.
  4. Experience identifying data system problems and creating models to analyze department data analysis needs.
  5. Experience with interoperability including databases, data linking, and data system integration.

Selection Procedure:

Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum/desired qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. Candidates meeting the minimum/desired qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources. Additional assessments/testing may be required as part of the selection process.

Licenses and Certificates:Valid driver license is required at time of application.ValidAZdriver license is required at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicants suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination.
