  • Assist in site assessments, investigations, and feasibility studies, including liaising effectively and efficiently with clients, subcontractors and WSP staff;

  • Assess and or supervise of contractors works and surveys;

  • Collect and analyse data related to site contamination and hazardous materials;

  • Project delivery both to programme and budget including preparation of reports;

  • Collaborate with the internal and external project teams to develop and implement project plans;

  • Pro-actively participate in safety protocols and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations;

  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies;

  • Travel – our projects are predominantly UK based, with a requirement to work away from home (the frequency of which, is project dependant). Some international travel maybe required;

  • Business development - liaison with new and potential clients; both internal and external to WSP; and

  • Continuing personal development - Stay updated on industry best practices and environmental regulations.

YOUR TEAM

The Site Closure, Demolition & Remediation Team deliver work as part of the broader WSP Ground & Water team, which undertakes planning, procurement and management of decommissioning, demolition and remediation projects for industrial, energy and development clients. Our projects are predominantly in the UK, however, the team are currently involved in an increasing number of international projects. The consultant / engineer will work within a small specialist team on a range of projects and will work closely with other WSP technical disciplines, including Asbestos, Structures and other Environmental teams.

  • Tertiary education in a relevant field or industry is preferable;

  • Demolition and or Remediation Contracting experience or the supervision of;

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities;

  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting software;

  • Knowledge of UK CDM, Environmental Regulations and Guidelines;

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; and

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.
