Conduent Senior Engineer Payroll in United States

About the Role

The Senior Engineer Payroll works with teams of other engineers, and business partners to design, implement, and deploy functionality which meet customer’s requirements, and supports deployment in highly available environments. The Senior Engineer Payroll also participates in architecture and design of various payroll components focused on creating business solutions.

The person in this role will drive engineering projects by designing, developing, and maintaining technical integrations, as well as generating reports and other configurations using Payroll package with strong payroll processing support. Additional responsibilities include conducting tests and deployment of new enhancements into the various regions.

This is a virtual position based in the US. Prefer EST or CST time zone.

Sponsorship is not currently available for this role. This is a full-time position with Conduent and is not a C2C opportunity.

Responsibilities:

Plan

  • Contributing to designs to implement new ideas which use new frameworks to improve an existing or new system/process/service.

  • Understanding current technology that supports business goals.

  • Collaborating with product owners, technical leads, and other engineers on plan, build, and run activities.

  • Ensuring data accuracy and integrity, including all aspects of security and data privacy.

Build

  • Serving as a subject matter expert on Payroll integrations, new feature delivery, operational enhancements

  • Driving technical improvements and partnering with the business functions to create a continuous roadmap.

  • Assisting with the research, planning, building, and testing of payroll system upgrades/updates.

  • Creating detailed integration specifications, field mappings, designs, migration documentation to support the integration life-cycle.

  • Writing basic documentation on how technology works.

  • Creating clear documentation for new code and systems used.

  • Documenting systems designs, presentations, and business requirements for consumption and consideration at the manager level.

  • Collaborating with technical teams and using system expertise to deliver technical solutions.

  • Continuously learning and teaching others existing and new technologies.

  • Contributing to the development of others through mentoring and/or conducting in-house workshops and learning sessions.

  • Managing multiple competing priorities through effective organization and communication.

Run

  • Continuously reviewing existing designs and processes to identify opportunities to optimize existing workload/integrations for improved performance and reliability.

  • Researching integration failures/issues, performing root cause analyses, and proposing solutions for the fix.

  • Providing ongoing production support via integrated monitoring and alert notifications.

  • Understanding system protocols and how systems operate and data flows.

  • Being aware of current technology benefits.

  • Understanding the building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to complete software and automation work.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years IT engineering experience.

  • 5+ years of experience building US payroll Integrations with core connector systems.

  • 3+ years of experience dealing with Payroll integrations and administrative functions including but not limited to tenant, business process and security configurations, data loads, and payroll processes.

  • 3+ years of experience in integration performance improvements.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Have experience in UKG Payroll (Ultipro) app implementation.

  • Have experience integrating with third-party vendors especially banks and benefits providers.

  • Enthusiastic about solving complex, system-to-system integration problems.

  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.

  • Have Technical Writing experience.

For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position, based on business need, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive. In addition, Conduent provides a variety of benefits to employees including health insurance coverage, voluntary dental and vision programs, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) or vacation and/or sick time. The estimated salary range for this role is $96,250- $125,000.
