Consulate Health Care Admissions Coordinator in Waynesboro, Mississippi

We are looking for a qualified Admissions Coordinator to join our team!

We are searching for a Admissions Coordinator to join our community that is resident and family focused, a team builder, and excited about the opportunity to assist in building a culture.

As Admissions Coordinator, you are entrusted with the responsibility of caring for our residents, families, co-workers, visitors, and all others; as well as demonstrating in all interactions. The primary purpose of your job position is to support the Admissions Department activities in the pre-admission, admission, discharge, and follow-up.

Status : Full-Time/Non-Exempt

Shift: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm

Major Responsibilities:

  • Receives patient referral when they are called directly into the facility. Disseminates the information to the Director of Admissions and follows up accordingly. Assists Director of Admissions to contact families of potential residents and invite for tour.

  • Tracks pre-admission referral activity daily. Assist with arrangements and confirmation of all admissions. Tracks acute hospital admissions to ensure readmission of patients.

  • Notify departments of anticipated admission. Complete face sheet, attach to clinical screen, and copy and distribute to appropriate departments. Notify case manager and/or Director of Clinical Services of any potential risks.

  • Ensure level of care approval obtained. Order specialized equipment as indicated.

Specific Requirements:

  • Must possess good communication skills.

  • Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.

  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.

  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing/medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.

  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.

  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.

  • Must be able to relate information concerning resident's condition.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Secondary Education Degree required. (Associates or Bachelor's degree)

  • Nursing degree preferred.

  • One (1) year experience in healthcare, business development, and managed care/insurance.

  • Experience with public and commercial payers sources preferred.

  • Familiar with medical terminology.

  • Excellent interpersonal, coordinating, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
